Paeonia, 'Lemon Chiffon' hybrid herbaceous peony
Notable characteristics: One of the best hybrid yellow herbaceous peonies. Blooms as both a semi-double and full bomb double. Foliage is a glossy deep rich green. Stems are stout and strong. An excellent variety for hybridizing, as both the pollen and seeds are fertile.
Cultivar group, hybridizer and year introduced: Hybrid, Reath, 1981.
Growth habit and size at maturity: Upright, grows to 32'' tall and wide. Very good stem strength.
Flower form and size: Semi-double to bomb double, 4-5" and upward facing. Excellent variety for landscape planting or cut flowers.
Flower fragrance: Mild.
Bloom time: Mid-season hybrid peony, blooms in our USDA zone 6a garden in the first week of June.
Zone hardiness: Proven in USDA zones 4-9.
Plant size: Field dug, bare root plants have 4-5 'eyes' with a well developed root system.
