Variety description: Small white flowers appear in profusion on leafless branches in early spring. Heart-shaped leaves emerge bronze, turning green, then yellow in autumn.
Height and Spread at Maturity: 20' tall and 15' wide
Site requirements: Redbuds grow well in full sun in the northern part of its range but will benefit from some shade in the southern zones, particularly in the lower mid-west where summers are hot. Best growth occurs in a light, rich, moist soil but Redbud adapts well to a variety of soil including sandy or alkaline.
Hardiness: USDA zones 4B through 9A.
Plant size: Grafted tree, 12-18" with strong central leader.
