Pawpaw
Pawpaw (Asimina triloba) are the largest fruit native to North America, found in the wild for northern Florida to New York. Soft, sweet yellow flesh tastes very tropical, with notes of mango and banana. Two different varieties are best for cross-pollination. A full sun or part-shade location is ideal. Grows to 10-20' tall. Hardy in USDA zones 5-9. Deer resistant once established. See our article on pawpaws for more information on cultivation and propagation.
